Biografía:
    Compositor norteamericano de música para cine y TV, especialmente recordado por la partitura del drama basado en la novela de Davis Grubb, La noche del cazador (The Night of the Hunter, 1955), película considerada un clásico imprescindible, dirigida por el prestigioso Charles Laughton, única película dirigida por el afamado actor británico y por el tema central del film Redada (Dragnet, 1954), dirigida e interpretada por Jack Webb, sobre un guion de Richard L. Breen. Fruto de su colaboración con el director Charles Barton y los actores cómicos Bud Abbott y Lou Costello, compuso las comedias Vuelven de la guerra (Buck Privates Come Home, 1947), The Wistful Widow of Wagon Gap (1947), Mexican Hayride (1948), The Noose Hangs High (1948), Abbott and Costello Meet the Killer (1949) y Las minas del rey Salmonete (Africa Screams, 1949). Musicó también otros filmes protagonizados por la dupla Abott y Costello, pero esta vez dirigidos por Charles Lamont, Abbott and Costello in the Foreign Legion (1950) y Comin' Round the Mountain (1951).  © Javi Galván
